Wanderers Chapter 8- Maharana Ki Jai

In the settlement all were sad about the king’s death. Jaiwanta bai never returned to Udaipur. She reached the forest settlement instead of the palace.
In Udaipur all the ministers are not satisfied with Jagmal as king. His casualty was not liked. Chundawat had warned him quite a lot of times but he was not ready to listen and change his ways.
His way of calling dancers from Rajputana to dance in the court was opposed. During the court sessions he did not listen but was drunken and in sub conscious state.
When the king had to access his soldiers he was engaged with the dancers and as seeing them dance. He not only wasted on them but also on alcohol and some drugs. All these things could not be tolerated for long.
Chundawat gave a warning and soon left his post. All other ministers also resigned their post. The king was not bothered at all. Udaipur was now vulnerable to attacks even though it was protected by the Haldighati grounds on the one side.
After resigning the posts all reached Pratap to convince him to take the responsibility of the king.
“Kunwar Pratap baat samjiye…aap hi Udaipur ko ranaji ke liye apne sath rak sakte hai…Kunwar Jagmal toh Talwar tak nahi utate”
“Chundawat ji yeh dhajiraj ka aadesh hai aur humara kartavya hai ki hum unke aadesh ka palan karna”
“Kunwarsa Kunwar Jagmal ke hote hue hum Chittor pana toh durr Udaipur bhi sambhal kar nahi rak sakte hai”
“Bheem Singh Doda ji aap sab milkar Kunwar Jagmal ko yogya banayiye”
“Kunwarsa yeh humse nahi ho sakta aur waise bhi veh unka katla kar dete hai joh unhe kilaf bolta hai…woh bhi darbar mein hi”
“Haan Kunwar Pratap…yeh thik keh rahe hai”
“Ranimaa aap bhi”
“Kunwar Pratap aap ko hi Udaipur ko sambhalkar rakna hai aur Chittor ko wapas lena hai…yeh Kunwar Jagmal se nahi hoga…veh Mewar ko uss Mughal ko daan mein bhi de sakte hai”
“Magar ranimaa…”
“Hume Rana Jagmal Singh nahi….Hume Maharana Pratap Singh chahiye…Udaipur ke raja sirf Pratap Singh ho sakte hai”
“Maharana Pratap ki Jai”
“Maharana Pratap ki Jai”
“Maharana Pratap ki Jai”
“Maharana Pratap ki Jai”
It was decided that all will reach the palace the next morning and will remove Jagmal from his post and crown Pratap.
The next morning they reached the palace. Jagmal was as usual intoxicated. He was not in senses.
“Rana Jagmal aap krupaya karke yaha aayiye” Calmly and softly Chundawat ji requested.
“Nahi”
“Rana Jagmal niche aayiye” His calm composure was shattered now, he said a bit loudly.
“Nahi…hum yeh talkth nahi chodenge”
“Rana Jagmal Singh yeh akri baar hai…niche ayiye” No more he had any patience to request him….He just shouted on him.
“Nahi…Yeh humara takhth hai aur humara hi rehega”
“Jao Chundawat yaha se bahar jao…yaha tumhara koi sthan nahi hai…”
“Acharya Raghavendra…Dadabhai Pratap…nahi nahi Deshdrohi Pratap ka chamcha…uska guru…tumhara bhi iss Udaipur ke darbar mein koi sthan nahi hai…na hi iss Mewar mein…”
“Ram Shah Tanwar….Gwalior naresh…na na…ab sirf Shehenshah Akbar ka daas....tumhara sthan waha Agra ke kal kotri mein hai…yaha Udaipur ke Darbar mein nahi…”
“Bheem Singh Doda…ek sainik tha aur ab ek darbari…ha ha ha…sab uss Bagaoda Pratap ka bala…tum jao yaha se…na na isse hai Agra bej diya jaye aur Mughal sena mein samilit kar diya jaye…”
“Jagmal Singh… Tumhara itna sahas ki tum Udaipur ke darbariyo se aise baat karo…”
When Jagmal even after asking quite a few times refused to accept, the anger stood on the last nerve. Everybody was furious at how he spoke. Chundawat and others pulled him down the throne and pushed him out of the kingdom.
Pratap was crowned royally as the Maharana and Ajabde was made the Maharani after Pratap made it clear that his maharani will be Ajabde only. She was not there but the ceremonies to declare her as the maharani was done.
“Maharana Pratap ki Jai”
“Maharani Ajabde ki Jai”
“Maharana Pratap ki Jai”
“Maharani Ajabde ki Jai”
“Maharana Pratap ki Jai”
“Maharani Ajabde ki Jai”
“Maharana Pratap ki Jai”
“Maharani Ajabde ki Jai”
“Maharana Pratap ki Jai”
The coronation was over. All of them left the palace and reached the settlement. All the children too had to lead a simple life now one.
One person decided to lead a royal life. Rani Dheer Bai who could not succeed in making her son the king and becoming the Maharani was left by herself and her son joined hands with the Mughal ruler Akbar.
