A Tribute To BKVPMP Serial
Running down the deserts of Rajasthan, he entered the scene
with Amitabh’s voice behind inspired me to continue watching this show. A 8th
standard student then, I did not know what a serial meant but…my interest grew
as soon as Faisal’s face came into the plot. On 28th May 2013 my
routine changed….every day I would sit right in front of the television at
around 10 minutes before hand and would switch Sony.
Jhoor jhoom badal badal……Veer tu Prachand tu……Talwaro ki
dhaar saje…..Jauhar phir se hai aaya…..Jai jai jiski jaikaar pratap hai…..
The Inspiring Songs, the Sacrifices, the Bravery, the
Rajput’s Tradition and everything kept me close to this show, kept me attached
to this show whether it was a good track or bad.
Starting from the small jokes with Sajja Bai to the
serious wars with all warriors from Udai Singh to the small samanths
made me watch this show without skipping one episode also.
The sacrificing tits and bits, as they are called even though
all the sacrifices were very huge, in one or the other way saved something or
someone and changed the pages of history.
Som’s sacrifice in the form of death to save his friend was
the first heart touching sacrifice shown to us, then the story of Panna Dai
kept us with the show….her sacrifices were unbelievable….she put her son to
death for the king. Then comes Krishna who sacrificed her life. Then follows
many samanths who died which fighting the Bundi war and other wars. Who can
forget Phool in this context??? She was the one who forgot about
her love for a minute and brought our favorite couple Pratap and Ajabde close
to one other. What about the warriors of Chittor seize??? Wow!!!
Those warriors from the oldest Rawat Chundawat ji to the youth hero Patta whom
my mates loved dearly…. All the warriors from the normal soldiers to the king’s
close aid or the ones in between post. It’s not only men who were always
sacrificing but women too. The women led by the great Rawat Chundawat’s wife
and Jaimal’s wife left their fingerprints on the walls of that palace and
jumped into the Jauhar kund with Jauhar Phir Se Hai Aaaya playing back
gave goosebumps. And then finally those warriors who breathe their last in the
battle of Haldighatti….Oops…forgot Chetak, a warrior indeed he was…a horse
warrior who gave his life for the life of his rider. The sacrifices gave us
goosebumps and also sometimes made our eyes moist.
Being a biopic…a show about the life of the forgotten warrior
Maharana Pratap Singh, this show not only focused on him but on many other
stories, true ones that made an impact on him and his family members. The first
story shown about someone other than that of the hero was the story of Panna
dai. The sacrificing tale of a dai ma of Udai Singh was shown as a part of
the story. And the other one was the
story of Meera Bai and her divine love for an immortal creature. Everything
from the narration to the meeting of Pratap and Meera ma was a really good
track. And then comes the narration of the story of Rambola, Tulsidas. And then
the deeksha natak which ended in one episode was all really informative.
And then who can forget this beautiful lady who was a female
of double personality. A story without a villain is incomplete, however sweet
and good the story is and this young and pretty lady made possible for the
story to be interesting. Even though she used to plot against the hero but her
plots kept us engrossed. Not only her every villain played very well in the
life of Pratap and changed his life.
Jaiwanta bai’s motherly nature, her teaching and her
simplicity touched us. Sajja bai’s chul buli talks made us smile. Dheer bai’s
plot and plans kept us wondering what would be the next scene. Udai singh’s
kingly duties, fatherly instincts and his shouts left us awestruck. Pratap’s
warrior nature, his dialogues- “Humara naam Pratap Singh hai” , his
timely decisions and his devoted love made us love him to the core. Ajabde’s
doe eye, simplicity, views and forgoing her love made us believe she was the
best for the warrior prince.
Those days… with Na na naa na Chan chan chan chan…playing
along made us see the show without missing it.
The mala exchange by nature, falling in love with a person in disguise,
meeting the same person again and throw water on him, flowers showered when
bumped, friendship, dreams, a letter leading to a time all alone, Snake bite,
care taking, another girl’s love for the same person, hiding those soft
feelings, realization, confession, acceptance, revelation, separation, war,
skyfall- fall from the balcony while other catches, injured, restless, wedding proposal, Totamal-
Toranmal’s entry, Eyes meet underwater, Rootna-manana, Sagaii, haldi, tilak,
wedding- sweet talks, ghat bandan, sindoor daan, var mala, phere, time all
alone, personal promises, bidaaii, welcome, exchange of ring and then
separation once again made us greedy for more of such scenes.
The dialogues-
Kyu ki Phool woh nahi joh…. Hume mil chuki hai aur
humare samne kadhi hai…..
Apka kya Ajabde??? Jab hum apke bina chain se reh hi nahi
paate toh yeh kaisi balidaan hai Ajabde??
Chalye mitra…
Heh?? Patni
Haan wahi wahi
Apko iska dandh toh swikaar karna hi padega….aaj se aap hume
humare naam se Pratap kehkar pukaarengi
The songs-
Na na naa na na naa na naa na na na naaa chan chan chan
chan….
Kunwarsa padere angane ji gava magal di…..
Kunwarsa dhanya hue prajajan baisa aane wali hai….
Dete vachan yeh ek duje ko…..
The eye locks, the dialogues and songs added spice to the
story.
Post leap too the eye locks, dialogues and songs made us see
the show with more interest.
The dialogues-
Aapko kya lagta hai ki hum apna dhayaan swayam nahi rakh
sakte hai??
Thik hai Kunwar pratap thik hai, jaise kalantar mein kumkaran
tha waise humari patni
Toh yeh sab aap apne putra ke liye ho raha hai
Ranaji hum apse atyanth prem karte hai
Ajabde hum bhi aapse atyanth prem karte hai aur hum apko kuch
hone nahi denge
The song, Tum hi toh ho bas tum hi toh ho
This love story was incomplete without the beautiful angel
villains- Dheer bai and Uma devi who made the lead couple close. Every plot of
theirs did nothing but brought pratap and Ajabde close. And because of their
plots alone Phool came and got pratap and Ajabde married. If these two were not
there then this love story would have been incomplete.
Then every warrior-
Patta- A friend of Pratap and young warrior in nature who died
in the battle field during the seize of Chittor.
Rawat Chundawat- a father like figure to Pratap,
stayed with him and helped him in any kind of difficulties, played a major role
in shaping Pratap’s life, died along with Patta and others in the same battle
ground during the seize of Chittor.
Jaimal- A well-known figure in Rajputana he was, one like
Pratap who did not accept the over lordship of Akbar when all had. He supported
Pratap and his mates during the Seize of Chittor. A name that is always printed
in history with the name of Patta is his.
Kalla- Pratap’s friend and Jaimal’s brother he was and a
warrior who played a crucial role in the seize of Chittor and lost his life
then and there.
Shaliwaan Singh, Bheem Singh, Ram Shah Tanwar- Three
members of Pratap’s senapati list died fighting in the war of Haldighati.
Shaliwaan was the brother in law to pratap and lost his life for Pratap’s
vision. Bheem Singh died while taking revenge for Shalivaan’s death. Ram Shah
Tanwar died while protecting Pratap from getting surrounded.
Jhaala Singh- A soldier resembling Pratap died in
the same battle of Haldighati when wearing Pratap’s armour and head gear.
Without him, Pratap would have died without fulfilling his dream. His name is
also taken when the name of Haldighati is taken.
Why only men in sacrificing life for their motherland??? Why
not women?? Women too gave their life for the sake of their motherland.
Jiwa and her mother in law- Wife of
Patta and mother of Patta, women warrior in nature preferred fighting and dying
rather than Jauhar during the seize of Chittor. They fought with swords till
their last breathe.
Other women including Rawat Chundawat’s wife, Raimal’s wife
and many others- A group of women who gave their life in the Jauhar kund
by jumping into the fire for the sake of their mother land.
All these people’s death bought water down my cheeks.
Chetak…..Chetak……
The loyal friend of Pratap was one more whom I loved in this
show. His cuteness and fastness in his physical nature was the thing I loved. I
loved him for his bravery and his helpful nature. He was also the one who was
responsible of the hero to be alive to fulfil his vision.
Who can forget Shenshah-e-hind??
Without him the wars would have not been possible. The root
cause for the Seize of Chittor and Haldighati war he was. The villain of the
show he was along with Dheer Bai and Jagmal Singh. The last part was best when
he bow for Pratap’s death. The secret friendship also was very nice.
This serial not only entertained and relaxed me for two and a
half years but increased my knowledge about many things related to history.
This serial encouraged me to write and this serial gave me
many mates whom I wouldn’t have found if this serial was not there then.
This show made me a hard core fan of Faisal and Roshni and a
follower of India’s First Freedom Fighter Maharana Pratap.
Very big thanks to Contiloe Entertainment for producing such
an amazing show. Without this show I would be somewhere and not here writing
this piece.
I am going to miss this show. My routine would be changed and
no more would I sit in front of the television and wait for the time to come. I
will wait for one day when a movie on this famous personality would be made
again providing information about everything about him.
Last time and final time
