Wanderers 29- Awestruck
Suddenly there was an
increase in soldiers near Pratap’s own patch therefore Shaliwaan was left all
alone again but Pratap kept an eye on him to save him when the he faced difficulty.
Shaliwaan and his patch
were completely surrounded and Ahmed Khan was in charge of it. He kept moving
here and there around the arrangement while Shaliwaan fought bravely with
soldiers.
“Tum me itna bhi sahas
nahi hai kya ki tum kud humse ladne nahi aa rahe ho??”
“Shaliwaan hum aa rahe
hai…”
And Ahmed Khan came to
attack. And fortunately or unfortunately Rana Pratap arrived at the spot.
“Sainik!!!”
And the soldier placed
his shield above his head. Pratap came running. He placed his foot on the shield
and there was he, the warrior of mother earth held high. Pratap ran and jumped
over him and sliced Ahmed Khan into two symmetrical half. Ahmed Khan died on
the spot and the sun set marking the end of the day.
Everything that
happened awestruck all the warriors, Akbar himself were shocked to hear that
Ahmed Khan was split into two. Maan Singh could not believe that Pratap did
that but he did not break any rules.
That day marked
Pratap’s victory over the Mughals. Now all the warriors had a gala time as usual.
The next was going to be a tough one as Pratap killed Ahmed Khan brutally but
none feared. All the Rajputs pledged that they will bring victory to the
Rajputs and then rest.
The sun rays marked the
beginning of the third day of the war. The war began with both the sides
clashing each other with the greed to win. The win was to be on only one’s
fortune but the efforts were made by both the sides. The Rajputs were brave
enough to attack the head Maan Singh and they planned pre hand to focus on the
head lead.
Today was the day to
play with the betrayer of his motherland for his treason. He forwent his very
own land which gave him so much and joined an intruder just for the sake of
fun. He was a Mughal in disguise of a Rajput.
Under Pratap’s guidance
they planned to have Maan Singh overthrown from his worthless post and to show
him his real entity. Shaliwaan withdrew from war on Pratap’s request for that
day.
All others formed a shaped of a tilak marking
the success. The king, Maharana Pratap was on the head of the tilak with Shakti
Singh beside him. The front was governed by Guru Raghvendra and the Bhills. The
center was managed by rest on Hakim Khan’s lead.
Hakim Khan made sure
each soldier reaching the troops dies from his cannon ball. Guru Raghvendra and
Bhills managed the front position carefully. Till afternoon all the warriors
fought from the assigned positions.
When sun moved above
their head, the warriors dispersed and fought here and there. The soldiers
fought with soldiers and the senapati’s fought with the head of the opponents.
Pratap and some soldiers proceeded towards Maan Singh with Chetak.
Chetak drove quickly to
the arena where Maan Singh stood high on the elephant. The soldiers on the
front fought to prevent Pratap reaching Maan Singh but Pratap tactfully faced
them and flew towards his elephant.
Chetak anticipated what
his master had planned and directly flew over the elephant’s trunk. He put his
fore feet on the trunk and Pratap pushed a spear on it. The elephant lost
balance and there the sarthi fell down. Then came Maan Singh’s turn when he
fell down the elephant and his head gear went and landed under Pratap’s feet.
Maan Singh ran holding
life in his hand. He did not bother about anything. Everything he wanted was
his life. The Mughal army dispersed hither and thither. Thus the war for the
day ended then and there. The Rajputs were extremely happy and went back to the
camp. After a light talk they all went to rest.
Pratap was happy and to
express his happiness wrote a letter back home.
