CoS 22- IN MY ARMS

The part one for the day was over. Part two will start in half an hour. I spent my time with phone chatting. And then half an hour was done. Book called me back.

Jaiwanta bai could dream about her son in that place as a groom and his bride would be Ajabde. She knew him and knew that he would follow his heart; she knew that he would marry his sole love. All this made her dream that the bride was Ajabde.

When the bride was called Jaiwanta saw her Ajabde in the bride’s clothes and her son Pratap in groom’s costumes. She was overjoyed. And during the pheres she saw her following Pratap.

Hansa could not understand that who will her laddo’s  groom, her mind wandered off during the pheras. Seeing the two, Pratap and Ajabde close to one other just opposite to them, put Pratap in the groom’s place. Hansa knew that this was not possible and her dreams would be shattered but the fate made her weave the dream.

And then the wedding was done. The pandit announced that from then on Saubhagyawati and Chakrapani were husband and wife. According to the rituals the two were left alone and all dispersed from there. Ajabde and Pratap’s friendship was strengthening now. The reasons were simple, Ajabde had started feeling that her love will succeed after the two small incidents.

*FLASHBACK*

A day before haldi all was busy and a letter arrived at the temple’s door where pratap was praying from an unknown person. He thought that to be Ajabde or his friend. The letter mentioned that he should come to the western end of the kalan at 12. He left the paper piece there and went away.

Next came Ajabde for her daily prayers when she found it there. She thought Pratap had called her for something important as she had seen him move out. She decided to go there.

No one knew who sent that letter and why. Both were in misconception that one had sent it to the other.

At the allotted time both went there. As a safety measure both carried dangers and walked with pin drop silence with eyes looking for dangers around. With both facing backs to one other waked towards the west end of the kalan. And there they both bump into each other with backs.

The face turns and both look into each other’s eyes for quite a long time. Ajabde had nothing to say but to move out of the position and back to her room while pratap accompanied her back to the room.

At the door pratap starts his talks.

Ajabde…

Ji Kunwar Pratap

Ajabde shub ratri…

Ji dhayawad aur haan apko bhi shub ratri

Dhayawad Ajabde…waise aap waha kyu aayi thi??

Hum toh apke patra dekh aaye the

Parantu humne koi patra nahi beja tha

Kya?? Phir who patra kisne likha tha??

Ajabde hume lagta hai ki koi kuch udeshya se hume yeh patra beja hai aur hume aur apko bhi sajak rehna chahiye

Ji Kunwar pratap…waise hume kuch kehna tha

Toh kehiye Ajabde

Woh hume Meera bai ji ki kahani aap kab sunayenge??

Ajabde hum woh gangaur ke baad sunayenge

Thik hai Kunwar prtap…ab shub ratri

Ji apko bhi

And he leaves the place.

Before the tilak ceremony pratap is in hurry and Ajabde had a lot of work pending. She rushes with flowers to the hall while pratap absent mindedly bumps into her and all the flowers fall on them. It was as if the god’s have showered their blessing on them. Both theirs eyes meet and twinkle.

*FLASHBACK ENDS*

These two events gave hope that her love can reach its destination especially the eye locks which revealed few things to her and to him.

This side the newly wed decide to talk. Saubhagyawati tells what she knows first.

Pandit ji hume kuch kehna hai

Toh kahiye Saubhagyawati

Baat yeh hai ki Ajbde ne hume bataya ki woh Kunwarsa se prem karti hai

Kya??

Haan, haldi ke pashchat

Arey yeh toh acchi baat hai

Kyu?? Aur kaise??

Aise, baujiraj pratap bhi unse prem karte hai aur veh jan na chahte the ki Ajabde baise ke man mein kya hai..ab toh pata chal gay hai na

Kya aap sach keh rahe hai??

Hum sach keh rahe hai aur ab yeh hum baujiraj pratap ko bhi batyenge

Haan haan

On the other side Pratap and Ajabde decide to go and visit some place without anyone’s knowledge. Ajabde decides that they will walk through the forest and return back after seeing her favourite lake. Pratap agrees.

They begin their journey from the kalan towards the forest. As it was dusk they decide to return soon. Without any idea about the weather they walk into the jungle. The rain pours down which both enjoy together. They get drenched and walk till the lake. The rain continues while both take place on the bank of the lake with legs dipped into the lake.

After a while the lighting strikes. The sudden light scares Ajabde, she immediately holds his hands. He is overjoyed by this. After having fun by splashing water on each other, getting drenched in the rain and then laughing and giggling at each other they decide to go back.

The rain by now had taken the state of drizzles but by they reached half way the rain comes back to the heavy state. With hands in hands they walk and now the thunder cracks. This again scares Ajabde and she finds her place in his arms.

She was on him, her arms encircled around his waist and she found peace and felt safety in this position but her instincts asks her to move away from him. He was happy but then it was very sudden. She moves away from him and both walk back before dusk.

This side Chakrapani was waiting for Pratap to open up the secret. As soon they reached Ajabde went to change before some body sees her while Pratap stayed back to listen to Chakrapani.

The truth was burst open and now the newly wed promised to help Pratap to get his love and make her his soon. The mission was on to convince Ajabde that she is worthy of him as she felt that she was much inferior.
