PrAja Amar Short Story

Dear Diary,

Such an exciting day it was!!!! All the preparations were done. In the morning itself I helped him out with his court work quickly before Amar wakes up. Today we both decided to spend time with Amar the full day- from he opens his eyes till he closes them. Maybe we both were the ones who remembered that it is a special day in this palace.

The palace was decorated as brides with flowers all over and red and yellow colored curtains according to his likes in the morning. All the food was made by us. It was a pleasant surprise to see Kunwar Pratap help in cooking or maybe his intention was different which could not understand.

We both had planned to give Amar a surprise; after all it was his 10^th birthday. We also planned to see how much he wants the gift, for the latter we implemented an idea of riddle game. He did not know to read but we decided to leave Chand and Maan with him.

All the family members had gone to the temple so as to pray for Amar on his birthday.  Chand, Maan and we were only there. All of us together decided to give Amar a cute surprise. The surprise was difficult to obtain, Amar had to use his brains in every step.

Before he woke up only I made foot marks which led to the bathing area. I was readily waiting for him there to help him out in dressing us. He understood that he had to follow the foot marks. He followed and reached there. For a change Kunwar Pratap was waiting to bathe him.

Dhajiraj aap??

Ji hum, kya hum apne putra se nahi mil sakte??

Nahi dhajiraj aap mil sakte hai na, waise dhajiraj aap yaha??

He gave Amar bath with all his efforts to win. He tried playing with Amar while bathing him. It was a change to witness him busy with children’s work. All that he did was making me laugh, from the making the paste with pepper and clove was a fail then comes the Amar’s stare at him when he tries to play with Amar. He never used to like to play while bathing. This finished when Amar reached my side. I dressed him up with new clothes. He was very curious and hence followed the foot marks

Apko bahut hasi aa rahi thi na??

I ran away from there to reach Chand and tell Chand to implement the plan. Amar searching her reached an empty room. We locked him up in the room and passed a piece of paper with a riddle for him to solve.

We looked through the window and noticed that he as facing his back to the door and was busy reading. We without making any noise unbolted the door and ran away.

I reached the temple for the pooja with Maan. We did not know where Amar was nor did we know what he was doing. We started the pooja and did the aarti in Kanha ji mandir.

‘Yahi hu’ matlab jaha mein kada hu waha parantu yaha koi nahi hai

‘Har jagah hu’ yani ki hawa jo har jagah hai

Isme toh kaha hai ki chune se nahi milega lekin kya hai yeh?

‘jalta hua kaksh’ ka arth kya ko sakta hai?

Samjh gaya

Yeh aur koi kaksh nahi yeh toh kanha ji ka mandir hai

Ma sa, bua sa aap dono yaha

Ji hum pooja karne aaye te

Toh apko aisa koi chitti mili (showing the parchment)

Arey haan hume yeh yaha se prapth hua.

Dhayawad bua. Hum chale

Ji

He took the aarti and ran away. No he was standing and reading outside. We peeped out.

SAMAY BEET JATA HAI, ITIHAAS BADAL JATI HAI LEKIN HUM NAHI BADALTE NA HI HUMARA ITIHAS

He now understood the game and knew the answer to the clue so he ran to that room. We sent Kunwar Pratap there to help Amar in giving the next clue.

Kunwar Pratap jaldi jayiye Amar pahunch jayega

Amar reached the ‘Purwaj Kaksh’ with enthusiasm.

He started to search and found it near the photo of Bappa Rawal. He was very happy hence ran from there. He thought that it was just a game but never knew the reason behind it or what he is going to get. Kunwar Pratap over heard him

HAWA SE BARA, HARA BARA HAR JAGAH, CHOTA HU PARANTU BADA HU DUNDO TOH SAHI

One after the other he was guessing but this one was a bit tough. We thought he would not understand but no we were wrong. He understood we thought when he covered his face with a smile and walked away from there.

Bhabhi sa ab kya hogo. Amar toh ja rahe hai uss jagah.

Haan bhabhi sa kya kare hum

Kuch nahi dekhte hai

Heh

Haan hum dekenge ki Amar dund payega agla wala.

Accha bhabhi sa hum dono jake dekhte haii ki Amar pahunch chuka hai ya nahi

I came off from there otherwise… I reached the next spot where Amar was busy looking through. This was my favorite place in the new palace. It was none other than the garden.

This Bhago also had to tell all this to Amar. Now what will he think about me?? Anyways, now that he had got the last clue I ran to inform Kunwar Pratap to prepare the gift.

Kunwar Pratap Amar ko mil gaya hai aakri wala.

Aap shigra jayiye aur tayaar kijiye

Ji hum chalte hai.

He too went there and I reached the garden to see what was happening. He was standing there and was reading.

PRIYA MITRA AUR PRIYA SAKHI DONO YAHA REHTE HAI LEKIN EK OUJAL HAI.

The more the ahead he went he was confused. This was our moto. Now I too reached that place to look through the arrangements. Amar reached Chakri’s place to ask whether there was some paper piece like that there. The answer that came was no. Now he was clueless where this place could be.

Kaun kar raha hai hai?

Hume toh samjh bhi nahi aa raha hai aur toh aur pata nahi yeh jagah kaunsa hai

Who toh kehta hai ki ek nahi hai

Parantu humare paas toh dono hai

He reached where we were hiding. He found no one there. No was found in and around the staple also.  We came out of the hiding and he carried Amar whereas I stood there adoring them. He left Amar with me and went somewhere to get something.
